Grand Staircase Escalante NP

Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Southern Utah is a vast, remote landscape of cliffs, canyons, and plateaus, known for its dramatic scenery, slot canyons, waterfalls (like Calf Creek Falls), and extensive backcountry for hiking, camping, and 4WD exploration, offering stunning sandstone formations and opportunities to experience Utah's geologic history. Designated in 1996, it's a "Science Monument" with rich biodiversity and requires preparation, often high-clearance vehicles for dirt roads, and good navigation for its challenging, but rewarding, trails.
