Chichen Itza, Yucatan Mexico

The Mayan Ruins. Chichen Itza, meaning "At the mouth of the well of the Itza," is a major Mayan archaeological site on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, famous for its fusion of Maya and Toltec styles, featuring the iconic Kukulcan Pyramid (El Castillo) and the massive Great Ball Court, serving as a vital ceremonial, political, and trade center from around 600 to 1200 CE before its eventual decline and rediscovery, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and New Seven Wonder of the World.

We went to Cozumel, then the Yucatan to see the ruins.
